For the first time in school history, DeMatha's varsity soccer team has finished as the No. 1 team in the country. The Stags completed the 2011 season with a perfect 20-0 record, which was the second straight year DeMatha went undefeated. The Stags have not lost a game since the November of 2009.
In the lastest and final soccer ranking by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), DeMatha (20-0-0) and New Jersey's St. Benedict's Prep (24-0-0) finished tied atop the nation. The complete list is as follows:
