Five Things You Should Know

1. Don't Count Out McNamara

The loss of a talented senior class has left many people questioning McNamara's ability this season. Tuesday night at Landon, McNamara nearly took down one of D.C. best basketball programs, but the Mustangs missed crucial free throws in the final minutes. Expect this team to get better with time. Video highlights from Tuesday's game will be available on DCSportsFan today.

2. The WCAC is Still Elite

Various publications have Magruder's basketball team as one of the best in the area, but they were no match for DeMatha on Tuesday. The Stags outscored Magruder 40-19 in the first half and held on to win, 75-58. Ten different players scored for DeMatha.

3. St. James Could Win the MAC

They ended up losing in overtime, but St. James took a very talented Benedictine team to the wire before coming up short. Keep an eye on Paul Easton and his Saints.

4. Joe McDonald Plays Through Pain

In Tuesday's game against McNamara, Landon standout Joe McDonald played the majority of the game with his right hand wrapped up. Although he played well and scored 18 points, it appeared there was some discomfort. Keep an eye on McDonald (and his hand) over the next few weeks.

5. Don Bosco Struggling Early

After losing to St. John's by nearly 80 points Saturday, Don Bosco took on another WCAC power in Gonzaga on Tuesday and didn't fare very well. The Eagles won by 63 points.
