Boys Scores

Paul VI 50, St. John's 49

PVI's first loss against a WCAC oppenent almost came at the worst time, but the Panthers were able to hold on against St. John's and advance to the WCAC Finals tonight at American University. Sean Beins had his second best offensive performace of the season for the Cadets, but St. John's came up one point short in the end. PVI was led by Stanford Robinson (13 points), Coleman Johnson (12 points) and Patrick Holloway (11 points).

DeMatha 45, Gonzaga 42

A low-scoring affair came down the final seconds as Gonzaga's last-second three-point shots fell short, and DeMatha walked away victorious for the second time in three tries against the Eagles. James Robinson (15 points) and BeeJay Anya (10 points) led the way for DeMatha, who will try and take down Paul VI tonight for the first time this season.

Girls Scores

Good Counsel 85, Paul VI 31

The Falcons led 24-9 after the first quarter and 48-20 at the half. Paul VI's slow start was too hard to overcome as Good Counsel beat PVI for the third time this year by at least 20 points. Amanda Fiorvanti led all scorers with 21 points.

St. John's 56, Holy Cross 32

The game was relatively close at the end of the first half, but St. John's blew the lead open with a 22-10 third quarter run. The Cadets avenged a three-point loss to the Tartans from February 14th, and St. John's will now try to defeat Good Counsel tonight for the first time this season. Good Counsel won the first two games by eight combined points.
