I Miss Rex Ryan and the NY Jets

by: Karla Sutton   2/27/2012

Everyone knows that being a NY Jets fan is not easy. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions. But most fans will agree that the highs make the, somewhat frequent, lows worth the ride.

Even though the Jets can disappoint, I can’t help but miss watching them in action, never knowing what is going to happen next. I don’t necessarily miss the interceptions thrown by Sanchez. I don’t miss the sacks. But I miss the J-E-T-S chant through the crowd. I miss the loyalty of the fans whether they win or lose. I miss the feeling in the pit in my stomach as I stand on the edge of my seat. I miss the exhilaration that comes over me when they do something amazing that everyone doubts (remember beating the New England Patriots in the playoffs two seasons ago?). It’s the best feeling in the world.

No other sports team can give me that feeling. I miss hearing Rex Ryan in the media saying whatever’s on his mind and not caring what other people think. I miss Dustin Keller making an amazing touchdown catch. I miss seeing Rex Ryan chest bump Santonio Holmes on the sidelines with a huge smile on his face.  I miss Revis catching an interception and running it back into the end zone. I’m giddy with anticipation of the football season to come. I just can’t wait to feel that way again.
