Ever since Bullis lost to Collegiate School in overtime on March 30th, the Bulldogs have been playing at an extremely high level. Not only did Bullis turn around and defeat Landon 7-6 five days later, but the Bulldogs took down DeMatha, Episcopal, St. Albans and Paul VI as well. Wednesday's meeting at Prep, however, would be the most important game on the schedule to date for the Bulldogs, and Bullis took care of business once again.
Led by Brandon Burke in goal (11 saves) and the offensive prowess of Matt Opsahl (3 goals), Mitchell Goldberg (2 goals), Kylor Bellistri (2 goals) and Drew Petkevich (1 goal), the Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead on Prep and held on for the one-goal victory.
The win over Prep was no fluke, either. Bullis defeated Georgetown Prep last year in double overtime by the same score (8-7), and they entered Wednesday's game ranked No. 2 in the DCSportsFan Rankings only behind Gonzaga.
With one league game remaining against St. Stephen's & St. Agnes next Tuesday, Bullis has the ability to win the IAC regular season outright and go into the playoffs as the No. 1 seed.
