LAST YEAR’S RECORD

12-0, 8-0 in WCAC

KEY PLAYERS

QB : Brendan Marshall (Sr.) – Marshall, who committed to Virginia in March, completed 81-of-143 passes as a junior in his first season as quarterback at Good Counsel. He threw 13 touchdowns and four interceptions last season. He’ll look forward to throwing to Andre Levrone again this season, as the two are not only both seniors this season, but both signed scholarship offers to be Cavaliers next season.

CB: Kendall Fuller (Sr.) – Going to Fuller’s recruiting page at any number of sites is a who’s who of big time football universities in the east coast and Midwest. He is one of the best defensive backs in the class of 2013 by anyone’s list, and will be locking down WCAC receivers all season long. Some of the biggest names that have offered scholarships include Ohio State, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech and Florida State.

RB: Dorian O’Daniel (Sr.) – O’Daniel, who also doubles as one of the elite linebacker prospects in the class who is going to Clemson, will be counted on to add balance to the passing game led by Marshall. Last season, he rushed for 901 yards on 125 carries and 17 touchdowns. His workload would figure to increase with Wes Brown’s graduation and subsequent signing with Maryland.

KEY GAMES (3)

August 24th @Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, NV

For Good Counsel head coach Bob Milloy, there was little doubt that the trip to go to Las Vegas and play perennial powerhouse Bishop Gorman on ESPN at Friday night.

“We have difficulty getting games locally, lets leave it at that, but the bottom line is that ESPN called up and invited us to play over there,” Milloy said. “They’re paying for the expenses, so it’s just free publicity and it’s something the kids will never forget. The biggest part is you’re playing a really good football team in Las Vegas. Some of these kids have never been on an airplane before, and they’ll be staying in a hotel, and it’s going to be great for the bonding of the team, regardless of who wins or loses.”

The game also doubles as the highest profile non-conference matchup of the season for the Falcons.

September 22nd @Gonzaga

October 5th vs. DeMatha

The WCAC championship seems to be a mortal lock to be won by one of these three schools, so naturally these two games are the biggest for the Falcons if they are going to accomplish their goal of successfully defending their WCAC championship.

GOALS FOR THE SEASON

“I don’t know if I want to call them expectations, but we want to obviously do the best we can to defend the WCAC championship.”

-Good Counsel head coach Bob Milloy

GOOD COUNSEL ON THE NEXT LEVEL

Good Counsel graduated six seniors to the college ranks this past season, with three of them, including five-star receiver Stefon Diggs, ending up just 14 miles away in College Park as Terrapins.

SPOTLIGHT

“Darrin Myers Jr. made the team last year but didn’t play very much. He worked hard this spring, and I’m just hoping that we can get him on that field offensively and/or defensively. He’s a 310-lb guy. We’re going to be really young up front, and hopefully he’ll be a part of that.”

-Bob Milloy

Next Preview: DeMatha
