Read your post, did some research and learned that both of them left SSSAs before their junior year. One went to Takoma Academy and the other went to Episcopal.

People need to lighten up. I saw some numbers once indicating that a substantial number of families in NVA start their kids a year late in school so they can mature and do better. That practice is far more common than reclassing for sports...just not as interesting to discuss. Let families and kids do what they think best to achieve thier goals.

The reclass thing is BUSH LEAGUE. It is unfair to a lot of true High School athletes that may otherwise have a chance to play or have some success. The influx of reclassifications reduces their chances of ever having a chance to develop, gain confidence and contribute.
If you're a solid/ not great 9th grader at a school, your coach can bring a stud reclass in every year and you may never play. It seems a bit gutless to me. Staying back to play YOUNGER/ LESS DEVELOPED COMPETITON.
You have seniors now that may be 19 at some point during the season. WOW. I'm glad this was not the norm when I played.
I graduated HS at 17...played my 1st 6 college football games at that age...I was 19 playing games as a junior in college and some of these kids are senior in HS at 19....seems a bit unfair to the kid that simply wants to play and have fun in High School. The ethics of this thing needs to be re-examined.

The IAC is sad....9th grade athletes should consider a different league rather than tolerate this BS....... Work your butt off for 3 years- work your way into playing time- and then they bring in a senior transfer that has reclassified...

Shocking that a kid who had reclassed went to Episcopal.
Why have they been rising in basketball? Because they're recruiting kids from other NoVA schools and reclassing them.
