Ryken scrimmaged Annapolis Area Christian Academy yesterday and performed well. They ended up winning 21-0. Jerry Franks and grew continue to coach the kids up. As a Ryken parent, Franks will need to sell the program to the three southern counties in md (Charles, St. Mary's and Calvert).

I agree. If your familiar with the Ryken program, you would know that they have come a long way but still need have a long road ahead. Ryken, needs to develop a winning record and continue to beat the teams that they need to beat. I'm excited about this season. We play several teams with D1 talent such as Bullis, Avalon, Gilman, etc... It's a starting point.

Ryken is playing Gilman ?

Yes, but just the JV team on 09/20 @ Ryken, not Varsity.

True. The jv team will be playing against Gilman. I'm not sure if the varsity could handle such a dominant program. Though the varsity schedule is not loaded with wcac teams, Ryken desperately needs to have a winning record. I can take a 6, 7 or 8 win season. It's going to take years to get to GC or Dematha's pedigree. Then again, we don't really need to be to have a successful program.

Ryken JV Football had a somewhat tougher schedule compared to Varsity. Coach Franks has a plan to slowly upgrade the opponents and the caliber of players at Ryken. The JV football team responded with a record of 7-2-1 this year beating notable programs,...Gilman, Gonzaga, and Paul VI. Varsity has the opportunity to close out a 7 win season against Riverdale Baptist. I believe Jerry has Ryken on the right track.
