Ive watched it twice. Still digesting it. As of now, walked away more disgusted by FCA than previously, but think it best to watch it a third time for a final verdict.

This is wrong in so many ways!  Prime example of why you can't always believe what you read and that folks from the outside(of DMV) have no idea how misleading that program(use the term lightly) is...Wow!

It's an inspiring story. Although many may not agree with the academics and college prep at the school you have to respect that coach. He is doing an unbelievable job.

There is no hate here, just truth!  I was an avid supporter of the coach.  I was happy for someone to step up and help the young players in DC, knowing how some of the other DC sports/academic programs was failing the kids.  But honestly now, he has "sold his soul to the devil" just to try and obtain some quality wins. Exaggerated truths and blatant lies is all that is coming from that so-called program now.

from a pure football standpoint, what is there signature win? the team from OH (last yr) was just average. no hate, just a question.

I know for a fact FCA has an open date still left this season. Tell your head coach to set it up so they can get that 1st quality. If not keep your hating to yourself playboy. Bmorecareful... lmao your a joke

@BeMoreCareful

what you need to realize is that the Winning records are nice but it is much more than that. Without this program (or any program that actually cares about the kid not the football player) some of these kids would not be exposed or given a chance to attend college (and for free or a reduced rate). In this economy I think most parents would love the opportunity to have their son or daughter attend college for free. So now (kids) parents see FCA as an avenue to accomplish this so of course kids are transferring from situations that their family feels is not given them the same opportunities. Is it Coach Rahim's fault that he leaves no stone unturned to get his kids scholarship money? With kids like Goldman and Reid is just about managing and helping them make good decisions with their recruiting, any coach could do that but the kids that are marginal D2 kids that walk away with scholarship when attending FCA is not happening at a lot of other schools. Again is that coach Rahims fault? Have they had a signature win? What do you call signature? A team that has tradition and history or a team that is HOT at the moment? Tradition and History? Yes, see Gonzaga, Dunbar, G'town Prep, Poly Prep (NY), HD Woodson, Gwynn Park. Hot at the moment? Name them and im willing to bet that there is a reason why the school cant play Friendship. I give you some help. GC, playing a Nationally ranked schedule and the dates can not be worked out. DM, the AD (oops I meant the WCAC) wont allow it. Gilman-someone help me with this one. Any PG County school-help

DCJon, please excuse any errors in my post, lol. So now lets just have a debate without the name calling.

Eagles81, I doubt if anyone from FCA came up to harewood st and kidnapped your players in the middle of the night because your players left to go all over the DMV. I will hold the mirror up for you if you need help. So again dont wish ill will on the next man. Worry about the game you have coming up.

For the record, FCA has lost some players to other schools as well. Eagles81 actually has one on his roster (dont know how with the WCAC transfer rule but good luck since you want to call people out).

Big Game,

  You lost me on your post.  I have no connections to harewood or the school you are referring to.  In all actuality, I don't even recall mentioning that program.  However, I do have close ties to the WCAC schools, Moco and PG County schools.  I guess this is your attempt of throwing a fishing net out there to find out if I am the coach there, well the answer is no...

You see, too many times, people put so much BS on these threads, trying to hype their kids, programs or whatever, that sometimes I feel it's necessary to let people know the truth.

I stand corrected.

So what was the hype, lies, etc...that was put out by a FCA coach, player, or parent on this website?

Big Game, I wasn't ignoring you or anything, I was on the road to Ga Southern to see my kid brother get ready for their season opener next week.  There is a ethical and interigty issue there at FCA and it starts from the top and works it way all the way down to the coaching staff.

I'm going to say this just to get people thinking...FCA is located in DC, they follow DCPS regulations for the school itself, minus the sports program. So why is it that when I watch them practice, I see so many MD tags and parents and kids that live in the maryland area?  Are you telling me that they have an overall better program than Wise or Flowers to make those kids in MD area want to come to a school like FCA, that as the coach himself says, they have to deal with a lot of street or outside problem.  Why as a parent, that resides in a house ranging from 300k to 800k, in an influential neighborhood send your kid away from your local school all the way to FCA? 1+1 is not equalling 2 here...Isn't this what Dunbar and ER got in trouble for in the past???

If FCA has had so many high profile players, than why are they not making an impact like the players from DM, GC, Dunbar, ER, Suitland, etc has done in the past? Are parents sending their kids there just to play on ESPN? IJS!

These are just my thoughts and observations...

@Eagles81

I wold like to let you know that FCA did follow the DCIAA athletic guidelines and submitted paperwork but was a non playing "member".  FCA also had to take it a step further and fill out paperwork with Maryland public system to show they would not use 5th yr players (Like the DCIAA) to play schools like Gywnn Park. People dont know that so they are accused of not having any guidelines.

I never said or remember reading anything by an FCA person about FCA having "so many high profile players". The reason alot of people go to FCA is because of the work rahim and staff put in to help the players that are not high profile. Of the 50+ scholarships earnabout 75% of them would have not played beyond high school if they attended alot of other schools. I have nothing bad to say about other programs (I have friends at most just like I do at FCA) but if a family is a opportunity to help their son then why not. As far as the "MD tags that you see". Believe it or not there are kids that pay tuition to attend FCA (A lot less then some of the private schools they attended). There are also split households with one parent living in DC and the other living somewhere else so they have a choice to attend any dc school or a school where the other parent lives.. That is a flaw in the public school system in the united states not just DC and definitely not just FCA. I have personally taking advantage of that I live in DC but my son transferred to a MD school because his mom lives there. We have joint custody so it is completely legal. He is only in middle school so no one cares until (hopefully) he becomes a big time student athlete.

This year the DCIAA has no more fifth year players. The rule was put in place starting this fall. Several DC schools lost key players this year because of the rule. Great job for the new AD.
