Since DCSportsFan started covering MAC soccer back in 2008, Georgetown Day has never defeated Sidwell Friends in soccer. There have been some close games that resulted in ties, but GDS has never been able to get over the hump.
Thursday afternoon in Northwest Washington, Sidwell Friends continued their domination over GDS with a 3-0 victory. Curtis Oberg, Daniel Perlis and Grant Reynolds all found the back of the net for Sidwell Friends while Marc Greenberg stopped all four shots on the Quakers' goal. It was the first shutout for Greenberg this season. Alec Dockser had seven saves in a losing effort for GDS.
Sidwell (2-1, 2-0) will play at DeMatha Saturday afternoon in one of the day's biggest games. DeMatha is currently 4-0 and has not lost a game since falling to Gonzaga in the WCAC championship game back in 2009. Since then, the Stags have won 28 straight games.
Georgetown Day (2-1, 1-1) will look to get back into the win column next Tuesday against Landon.
