Former Iowa running back Marcus Coker has transferred to Long Island’s Stony Brook University.

In a statement Coker said, "I'm very grateful to Coach Priore and Stony Brook University for this opportunity. I've become aware of Stony Brook's growing football program and outstanding academics. I'm excited for spring practice and the chance to help my teammates win a fourth straight Big South championship."

Coker led Iowa in running in 2011 with over 1,300 yards and 15 touchdowns but left the program shortly after being suspended from the Insight Bowl (Dec. 30th). It was later disclosed that Marcus was questioned in an alleged sexual assualt however no charges were ever brought against him. Coker will be eligible to play in 2012 for Stony Brook.
